Description

In-depth review shows covering movies, video games, TV and a vast range of geek culture. These take a long time and huge amounts of love and effort to prepare, record and edit. What you end up with is something I always hope will be just as entertaining as the subject matter. I've been podcasting since 2007 and I'm never stopping. The connections, and constant learning experience is something I want to carry on sharing. Come to Gonzo Planet, the home of this podcast, the forum and our warm, clever community. -Alex Shaw

Customer Reviews

Gonzo for Gonzo

I have to give credit where credit is due. This podcast is insightful, well written, and loads of fun. While I may disagree with Alex from time to time, I respect and admire the opinions and content he brings to the table. I was a long time listener to the Digital cowboys, and I will continue to stay in touch through Alex's commitment to Digital Gonzo. I hope to be a guest or correspondent on the show someday, because that Is how close the DC and DG community is. Love everything you have going on in the podcasting world, Alex, and you remain in my prayers while going through recent troubles.
Thank you for the brilliant content.

Must listen to!!

If you're looking for intelligent, interesting, and overall great talk about movies, games and overall geek culture go no further. Alex and his posse of article banditos are a delight to listen to every week.

Give a big hand, he's British!

To call Alex Shaw an "amateur" is only apt when considering the immense amount of love he shows for both his show and the subject matter. Beyond that it is difficult to think of Digital Gonzo as well as its (sadly) defunct predecessor, Digital Cowboys, as amateur-ish. To each of these shows, Shaw brings not only a wealth of understanding to the given topic, but also a confident and well-paced delivery that is as easy to follow reading lengthy recitations as it is making off-the-cuff remarks during discussions with his guests. Thanks to the plethora of friends he has made from his years in podcasting, his shows are graced with the insight of a wide range of others whose enthusiasm rivals his own. Lastly, Alex shows a great deal of respect not only to the subject matter and his guests, but also his audience and their capacity for expressing differing opinions. In short, Digital Gonzo is one of the better, nay, best places to go for in-depth, well-produced and highly-entertaining discussions about video games, movies and other such landmarks of popular culture. (Though likely with fewer hyphens.)
