Can we ever just discuss the show and stop laughing?

Pros: Slightly funny and it's interesting to get 4 perspectives in one podcast

Cons: They get so off topic it takes forever to get to an actual opinion or analysis. Constantly making fun of everything in the show so I'm not even sure if they enjoy it. Plus the laughter and side chatter gets to be obnoxious. It's understandable since they're friends but for the listener it gets annoying.

The fixers they need, when Mrs. Hughes isn’t available

This podcast is a great companion to Downton Abbey, especially those of us who love it but see its flaws and ridiculousness. The hosts have a huge breadth of knowledge that help them bring important context to their discussions, from history and culture to the science of birth control and the structure and craft of screenwriting and character development. They’ve upgraded their recording equipment this season and it shows (well, hears). All the better to process their creative cursing! Definitely worth a midweek listen after you’ve caught up on that week’s DA episode.

Haters to the left...

Listening to this podcast is seriously a highlight of my week. I would like to sic Mrs. Hughes on these other reviewers! Yes, the audio levels are a bit off, but this does not pretend to be a professionally produced podcast, and I enjoy the casualness of it. I laugh out loud every time I listen, which makes people around me on the train or street move further away from me, so it's a win-win situation, really. If you are a feminist viewer of Downton Abbey who likes to laugh, you will love this podcast!
