Description

We’re at our most vulnerable when we go to our doctors. We trust the person at the other end of that scalpel. We trust the hospital. We trust the system. Christopher Duntsch was a neurosurgeon who radiated confidence. He claimed he was the best in Dallas. If you had back pain, and had tried everything else, Dr. Duntsch could give you the spine surgery that would take your pain away. But soon his patients started to experience complications, and the system failed to protect them. Which begs the question: who - or what - is that system meant to protect? From Wondery, the network behind the hit podcast Dirty John, DR. DEATH is a story about a charming surgeon, 33 patients and a spineless system. Reported and hosted by Laura Beil.

Fantastic podcast

This mini series is incredible. The production quality is off the charts. It’s as if Netflix decided to produce a podcast and this was the result.

Great work!!

Chilling

As someone still a student in the medial field, I cannot believe that this is something that happened in the world, none the less in the state I live in. The fact that there was so much damning evidence for so long and he still managed to hurt 33 people is beyond me. This story is very well presented and will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout.

I’m shocked to find I was hooked

I didn’t want to like this podcast because the subject matter made me cringe, but it was completely enthralling. I was riveted in the most uncomfortable and mesmerizing way from beginning to end. There was no lull in this series. The narration was spot on perfection. Two big thumbs up from a reluctant listener. 👍🏻👍🏻
