A real gem

This is an excellent listening comprehension podcast. Level is somewhere around upper beginner. Based on my listening of the first few podcasts, what we have is a story. Each podcast contains about a paragraph's-worth of the story, followed by listening comprehension questions, which are repeated in a number of variations, so you'll have plenty of opportunity to practice. Following this is a brief explanation of vocabulary. Speaking speed is much slower than normal. This is not a podcast to teach you Japanese grammar, but rather to give you practice listening and speaking. Audio quality could be better (the very first one is practically unlistenable, so start with the second one). There are many podcasts that teach grammar and vocabulary, but very few (if any) that provide good listening comprehension practice such as this. I'm glad I found this one.

The Japanese language podcast I

This podcast features a small story, a quick explanation of the vocabulary, and then a long set of questions and answers about the story... all in Japanese. This is evidently not a beginners' podcast, but it is by far the most helpful I've found, and the only one that has actually made *me* work hard and improve my comprehension skills, while forcing me to try and answer Miss Tomoe's questions, and come up with new sentences of my own.

By far, THE best practice podcast out there.

Thumbs up.

It's really good!
