If you scrutinize what Tony Robbins, Seth Godin, Chris Brogan, John Lee Dumas and hordes of other entrepreneurial cheerleaders are peddling, it doesn’t add up. Their sales pitches seem willfully blind to the facts on the ground. And although entrepreneurial pep rallies may make us feel good in the moment (“I hereby give myself permission to be Number One!”), the glow doesn’t last. Why? Because those guys -- and hordes of imitators -- have taken a structural economic weakness and transformed it into a character issue. The problem isn’t the economy OR banks that are “too big to fail” OR dysfunctional public policies, the cheerleaders seem to say. No, my friend. The problem is YOU. ... This podcast is a parody of those cheerleaders AND an entertaining antidote to what they’re peddling. Welcome to ENTREPRENEUR EXPLOSION! And get ready to Feel The Burned!™

The Best Kind of Parody...
Parody and satire work best when there's a reason behind it other than simply laughs. Paul David Peterson's Entrepreneur Explosion may spoof the likes of Chris Brogan and John Lee Dumas (two successful content marketers Paul has interviewed on the show), but the purpose behind doing so is noble. The American Dream is wrapped up and sold like a shiny bauble, this thing we're all taught to crave, but not everybody can attain. Yet every week, so many podcasters sell the Zig Ziglar line: "If you can dream it, you can achieve it."
Entrepreneur Explosion examines why it's not that easy -- and holds the feet of Entrepreneurs on Fire to the fire. Where the show works best is in its sincerity. Paul is not an angry host; in fact, he is very gracious to his guests. His is not a sneak attack on them, but rather an invitation for an intelligent discourse in a time most of us are bombarded by shouting pundits on what passes for news these days.
It's rare when I say a podcast I listen to is actually important. The goals of Entrepreneur Explosion are important, and examine a type of marketing in a way rarely heard.
