Love this podcast
Very interesting show about such an important topic. Thank you, Nil!
Pioneering one of the most important movements of our time
Nil recognizes the devastation animal farming causes to our planet, including both human and animal welfare. Over 100 billion animal are in our food system at any given time. ~95% are in "factory farm" conditions, enduring extreme suffering and polluting the environment, and all of them are inefficient producers of calories and nutrients using plant calories to produce meat, milk, and eggs but also hair, movement, brains, etc. It takes at least 9 calories of plant-based food to produce 1 calorie of animal-based food.
I'm excited to keep following Nil's broad coverage of the hugely important work being done to build a more sustainable and efficient food system. He's approaching it from every angle: business, activism, technology, etc. This is a great podcast for anyone wanting to keep an eye on or participate in the burgeoning social movement for animal-free food.
Such a nuanced take on our food system and how to fix it!
