Hosted by Negin Farsad, Fake the Nation is all the comedy about politics without any of the politics about politics. Every week Negin and a cast of her funniest, smartest and most politically astute friends (John Fugelsang, Lizz Winstead, Dean Obeidallah and others) gather 'round the political roundtable to break down the news, make you laugh, think, and deliver a gut punch to the American political system.

Surprised how much I liked this

I'm not an Earwolf fan, so I went in with low expectations, but I loved this first episode! The intro podcast made me think it was a comedy show about politics, but really it's a politics show without the anger/formality/buffoonery and with a touch of humor. Unsurprisingly, I guess, it's like the Daily Show as a podcast and led by a woman (hooray for funny ladies)! Will definitely keep listening. Hope to see more like this from Earwolf.

Not moving the dial

Although Negin and her guests seem like nice people and I agree with them on many of the issues discussed, I think this podcast is an example of the inability to poke fun at oneself that plagues many modern liberals. Everyone on the show is constantly agreeing with each other and just regurgitating tired ad hominem attacks calling Trump a Cheeto. Doesn't feel like anyone is going into the discussion with their minds open to being changed, and that is a big part of what needs to happen if we are going to move the dial and fight the extreme polarization we see in today's political landscape.

The Best Way to Start My Friday

This podcast is my absolute favorite thing to listen to on my Friday commute. It makes that Los Angeles traffic at least a little more bearable. It’s nice to listen to smart AND funny people talk about politics and news in these crazy times. Here’s the truth: when Jon Stewart left The Daily Show, there was nothing that was scratching that itch for me. But Negin and Fake the Nation have handily helped fill that hole in my life. I recommend FtN to all my friends and I would recommend it to anyone who’s here perusing these reviews. Thanks for the stellar content, Negin.
