Learn ancient history from a rambunctious Swede!

The Fan of History is a jolly romp through time. It's great fun and very educational. Recommended for history buffs and anyone who wants an easy, approachable way to learn about the ancient world.

A new perspective

This show was a delight to listen to. I am so used to hearing American and British professors discuss history. I think you will enjoy this as well.

Something To be Appreciated

This is probably the best history podcast I've listened to, and I get around. It keeps its episodes in easily digestible time frames and provides insightful and sometimes even humorous commentary on the events of the ancient world. It is as inclusive of all world histories as their sources allow, and occasionally takes a break from the decade-by-decade format to talk about certain events, people, or even just a sign at length to mix things up.

Most importantly, it covers a time period that most people only hear about in churches and synagogues. It covers a time period that schools and documentaries don't, making the Fan of History an invaluable source of knowledge.

The only negative thing I can say about it is that the co-hosts (currently Brennan) aren't so much co-host as they are an audience stand-in for Dan to bounce the information off of. This is easily compensated by Brennan being quick enough to internalize and comment on the topic.
