Interview with Lex a long term rectal cancer survivor

Interview with Lex a long term rectal cancer survivor

Today I will be interviewing Lex from my cancer support group.  Lex was diagnosed back in 2012 with stage 3B Rectal Cancer.  Some of the more memorable things she shares is the fact that her doctor did not even mention survival percentages.  He felt that the percentages were not correct since typically they were several years old and treatments have changed.  She also, shares how not isolating and reading over 150 books on her Kindle helped her get through the tough times.

Finding Hope

That’s exactly what this Podcast has done for me . Giving me an opportunity to be helped by people that understand the difficulties of going thru the process of dealing with Cancer. While living alone I know that I’m not alone on this journey of recovery. Hearing the stories of my fellow survivors, places me in company of wonderful people whom I otherwise would have never met. Being able to share my own story with others may help someone to know that they are Not alone. Thank you Jim

One grateful soul. ,

Finding Hope Podcast

I have enjoyed following this podcast. While I am a cancer survivor I can remember when I was first diagnosed and how scary it was to hear that I had cancer. And how confusing it was to hear all the options I had, and try to figure out by myself what was best for me. Learning to ask questions of my oncology team and meeting others in similar positions through a support group was one of the best beginnings on my road to healing. Thanks, Jim, for providing this podcast to me and to newly diagnosed patients and to those trying to navigate this winding and sometimes bumpy road. It’s a journey taken and made easier by/with the support of others. Thanks.
