Informative despite the host

Josh Rossi is a great photographer and he has a lot of practical advice for the emerging photog. This podcast is a true gem… in concept.

To be sure, the information discussed is invaluable. He interviews a wide variety of professionals involved in the field of professional photography. Whether it's wedding, still life or fashion photogs or even agents, appraisers, and retouchers there is something for any and every photographer.

However, while it is wonderful that Mr Rossi is willing to share his expertise with us, he tends to do so when the interviewee should be speaking. He doesn’t seem to understand that the interviewER should restrain himself from offering lengthy opinions and focus on asking questions. It detracts from the conversation when he takes it upon himself to re-explain what his interviewee has already adequately explained. It’s insulting to both the interviewee and the listener.

One other improvement that could be made is the transitions from one topic to the next. It is most often marked by an insincere 'I love that' or 'that’s awesome’ followed by an abrupt unrelated question making the conversation feel rushed and unappreciated.

If Mr Rossi could develop his news anchor skills he will have a top quality podcast.

Worst Podcast I have ever tried to listen to!!!!!

This is the worst podcast I have ever tried to listen to. Does anyone including the host ever speak in a complete sentence or ever a complete thought? NO. Lots of ridiculous babbling, to many “like totally” “for sure” and that is crazy.

How about some clean coherent thoughts from people who know how to speak and teach a subject. If I was interviewing for a photographer and he or she sounded as moronic as Josh Rossi and some of his guests I would end the interview and move on the next candidate.

Has potential but needs reworking

This podcast has some really good guests. When they are left to their own devices to speak is when this podcast is at its best ( I hear you NeilvN ) - I have always liked Josh's photographic work but his podcast hosting needs work. Formulaic questions for his guest that he then responds with "Awesome" - but no interaction. Then he proceeds to re-state what the guest just said and move on. If Josh can learn to be a good interviewer then he may have something. Josh, listen to Frederick Van Johnson (TWIP) to learn how to interview.
