Food with a side of science and history. Every other week, co-hosts Cynthia Graber and Nicola Twilley serve up a brand new episode exploring the hidden history and surprising science behind a different food- or farming-related topic, from aquaculture to ancient feasts, from cutlery to chile peppers, and from microbes to Malbec. We interview experts, visit labs, fields, and archaeological digs, and generally have lots of fun while discovering new ways to think about and understand the world through food. Such Great Content, So Hard to Listen Too

The content of this podcast is so unique and interesting, but I have to give myself a break from it for long periods of time because of their delivery. They are obviously reading scripts; thus, they sound scripted and almost a well-intended way. I wish they’d just converse in normal voices. I’ve only read one other review that had a problem with their delivery, so maybe I’m overly sensitive, but I find it very off-putting.

Everything having to do with food

This podcast is all about food and comes from many angles: science, history, cooking, growing, selling, marketing.... And the food that has been covered spans the gamut from basic staple foods to spices and specialty foods and even food fads. They interview many different kinds of experts and the style of the episodes varies too: sometimes it is like a mystery, sometimes there is a surprise ending. I eagerly look forward to each new episode.

Food Science + Food History = Delicious!!! Remember to baste often

I love this show so much. Cynthia and Nicola are so interesting. I love history, and I have learned so much about the history of food, and the science as well! History AND science AND food? Perfect! I love how in depth they get. I wish there were even more episodes. Each one is fascinating. The only thing I find upsetting is when they eat something and I can hear it, as I have misophonia. Otherwise it's perfect. :)
