Off to a great start!

I'm a huge fan of Nicola's blog and am looking forward to hearing more from her with Gastropod!

Has potential but banter is stilted

Based on the first episode, this podcast has a lot of potential, but the hosts need a little more polish. The topics covered in the first episode were very interesting but the hosts banter in-between the stories was stilted and sounded unnatural (it often sounded like they were reading not really talking). I suspect that as they produce more episodes things will get more polished, so I look forward to hearing more.

Yes, banter is stilted, but cut them some slack! Their beat -- the future of food and Ag -- is a big issue and way behind sustainable energy in its development curve. They're new at this, knowledgeable, cast critical journalistic minds on what they hear, and do some digging to answer questions they raise. Hope they dig more into the territory mapped out by Dan Barber's terrific book. I wish them well and will be listening. Six star potential if they do it right!
