She’s worked as a senior editor at WIRED, a staff reporter at The Wall Street Journal, Vox Media’s The Verge, and MIT Technology Review.  Her reporting and essays have also appeared in The New York Times, The Atlantic, The Guardian, Paris Review, Chronicle of Higher Education, Lapham's Quarterly, National Geographic, and more. PRETTY CURIOUS | How Hot Is Jewelry? with Irene Neuwirth

We’re MAJOR fans of Irene Neuwirth Jewelry, known for her one-of-a-kind and incredibly gorgeous pieces! Irene tells Jonathan the story of her slow and steady journey from hobbyist at local gem shows to crafting unique pieces for major celebrities. She shares all that inspires her creative vision from her mother’s influence as a painter, to mixing and matching gems in playful ways that break traditional rules of jewelry making, and even the thought behind her individualized packaging. Plus, that time as a young designer when she broke a rare opal!

Irene Neuwirth is a jewelry designer from Los Angeles. She began experimenting with jewelry design after college and soon after she found herself inundated with requests for her one-of-a-kind pieces. In 2003, with business partner Tracy Stoll, Irene Neuwirth Jewelry was born. Her jewelry has been worn by celebrities like Naomi Watts, Tracee Ellis Ross, Julianne Moore, Sarah Paulson, and Busy Philipps, and her work has been featured in publications like Vogue, Elle, Harper's Bazaar, Town & Country, W, and The New York Times. Love this show!

I've watched every episode of Queer Eye and JVN is my favorite! Anyway this show has a little bit of everything and has given me so many great book recommendations. I also was ecstatic with this most recent episode about asexuals. Finally representation! Thank you JVN for the positivity you bring to the world!

Fantastic Show Every Week!

I have been a fan of this show and JVN for years now. His recent episodes with Anne Curzan (language), Renee DiResta and especially the conversations with Dr. Osama Khalil have been outstanding! All the episodes are smart, engaging and fun - I learn so much! The ones are name have really left me thinking and seeking more info through the guests’ books. Thank you, JVN and team for creating an amazing show and helping all of us learn. Thanks for being curious!

Live for it!

I live for Jonathan's interviews. I have been listening since the beginning and the episode of “Is Romance Dead “ MOVED me. As a bi woman married to a Cis white male it really made me think of all the gender roles that we fall into but can and DO alter in this day and age it left me hopeful. The Dr. and their opinion of the future has left me curious and all I want to do is learn more!!!!
