The Mockingcast is the podcast of Mockingbird ministries. Mockingbird seeks to connect the Christian faith with the realities of everyday life in fresh and down-to-earth ways. The name was inspired by the mockingbird’s peculiar gift for mimicking the cries of other birds. In a similar way, we seek to repeat the message we have heard - God’s word of grace and forgiveness.

Customer Reviews

Entertaining, thoughtful and helpful

I first got turned on to Mockingbird after my dad gave me a book called “Grace In Practice” for Christmas. I chased the paper trail from the author of that book to this website called I found myself spending too much time reading the articles, yet unable to stop myself because, you know FOMO. Like most existential crises in my life, I soon discovered there was a solution to my problem: the mockingcast. You will be hard pressed to find a Christian podcast with this specific cocktail of intelligence, sincerity and irreverence. It’s tuxedo t-shirt tone will disarm you, and then someone will quote miroslav volf and it’s all over. To be honest I didn’t like the host at first — felt like a contrived chumminess — but after a few listens I realized he’s the smartest and funniest guy on the podcast and now I feel like we are friends. All this to say, its well worth a few listens!

The perfect weekly catch-up!

I can think of no better subject for a weekly podcast than the Mockingcast. For the podcast addicted, like myself, I am so glad I can catch up on the weekly activity the Mockingbird blog: the absolute best outlet for connecting Christianity to everyday life. I cant always read the blog so this is a great way to get my dose of grace while driving, working out or doing housework. Okay, maybe not while working out. So forget Serial and Radiolab and subscribe! (Just kidding about Serial and Radiolab, those podcasts are amazing too)

I am probably not the target demographic for this podcast as I am a mom "of a certain age". However I am a huge fan. I look forward to the weekly download. This is actually my first foray into podcasts and I am hooked.
