Great American Dream is the story of the path to the big leagues, following current Reds minor league second baseman Shed Long in his journey toward Major League Baseball. Long's journey is one taken by thousands every year and their stories all different, but travel a similar path from cities across the country all with the same dream.

Great podcast

I downloaded the first episode of this podcast while in a long car trip, and enjoyed it so much that I ended up listening to all of them and wanting more.

Happy to Have Found This Podcast

I've been reading C. Trent's work in the Cincinati papers for a few years and was happy to her he would be going down on the farm to breakdown a facet of baseball fans are familiar with. I enjoyed the interviews, especially Joey Votto, and learning about Shed Long. A great listen during the offseason. Looking forward to C. Trent's next podcast.

Cool concept

This is a fantastic concept. I love hearing about the ins and outs of the minor leagues, and Shed Long is a great interviewee -- he really opens up and is articulate and honest about his experience in the minors. Rosencrans gets a lot of good information from players who initially seem reserved. A couple of things hold this podcast back. The editing is just ok - the sound level is up and down and some misspoken sentences make the cut. Rosencran's narration is fine, but his tone and content can both feel patronizing at times, like he's describing something to a 6 year old. Overall, though, these are minor annoyances in an otherwise great podcast with a unique and intriguing concept. If you're a baseball fan, particularly a Reds fan, this is a must listen.
