My favorite podcast

First found out about this when my husband was listening to it in the car and I've been hooked ever since. Grierson & Leitch occupies that middle space between podcasts which are overly pretentious and those which are simply recaps of the movie. This is more like a casual conversation between friends about the latest (and somethime older) films, discussing the themes and overall quality of the movies in a way that is accessible to everybody. For the reboot I'd love to hear a discussion John Carpenter's Escape to New York -- it was a favorite from my childhood but I doubt it would live up to today (although I could see it getting a Max Max style reboot with someone like Charlize Theron, Angela Jolie, or Emily Blunt as Snake Pliskin, Viola Davis as the president, and maybe even Kurt Russell in the Lee Van Clief role). I would have picked Shakes the Clown but it was already selected by someone else.

Easily the best movie podcast I've heard -- it's both informative and entertaining without being pretentious or silly. A nice mix of blockbuster films and lesser known indies with some older films thrown in for good measure. Overall, it's a lot of fun. Please discuss the Citizen Kane of drunk clown movies -- Shakes the Clown..

Followed these guys from their Deadspin days over to New Republic. Always awesome work. Stoked that they're doing some podcasting so I can get even more of a feel of their tone additional to their blog posts. Thanks guys!
