Finally a nice Podcast about Ham Radio.

I've just watched the first episode that features Joe Walsh and some Jennings guy as guests. The host is Bob Heil, the Heil microphone company guy. Anyway the conversation was intelligent and interesting. I can't wait to listen/watch the next episode. They mention that Leo Laporte is going to be coming on as a guine pig for their educational section of the show where after learning a little bit over each show, he will take the test for his amateur radio license. I hope that he doesn't screw up the show. I know that he must produce and distribute it since it is on the twit network and that is cool but TWIT has gone downhill with too many live reads and fawning over Apple, Facebook, Google, and Twitter and not enough John C. Dvorak who already has his Tech license.

Anyway this show has a good technical feel to it, it isn't dumbed down or goofy. It is however like a major nerd fest, but at least they aren't talking about computers and web 2.0 constantly. Maybe they'll discover that Fred "The Hammer" Williamson actually got his nickname from being an amateur radio operator and bring him on to the show to boost the soul and hip quotient.

Leo (I am KING of the World - and have the Dictator's CHAIR to prove it!) Laporte takes over another EXCELLENT podcast, and RUINS it!

Love it!

HN has inspired me to finally jump into ham radio. Just received my general license! Great show especially when discussing tech topics and how-to's.
