Description

AS THE GLOBE WARMS is a startling new eco-comic serial drama conceived by OBIE-winning performer Heather Woodbury that humorously explores surviving in America today on a planet veering toward social and ecological crisis. In the12-episode eco-comic epic, the fight over one small frog in one small town collides with the world wide web and the web of life itself. GLOBE is a labor of love, funded by generous listeners. Find out more at www.heatherwoodbury.com. THE SERIAL: Endangered amphibians, whirling dervishes, desperate scientists, and Evangelicals gone wild--all the inhabitants of Vane Springs, Nevada tell their tale in this gripping funny, sexy drama that crucially connects the dots between climate change, America’s religious-secular polarity, and economic inequality. The protagonists: a working class family on the brink of extinction who befriend Tea Partiers, desperate scientists, off-the-reservation-Evangelicals, and on the way discover a strange form of eyewitness testimony from bees, bats, polar bears, and frogs.

Customer Reviews

Brilliantissima! I love this serial.

I heard this as a live performance, but this radio version with the cool sound effects is a whole new experience. Love love love it!!!

Amazing!

How can one woman play 100 characters, young and old, male and female? Play them in such a way that you come to know them, to care about them, and even fall in love with them (well, most of them)? And how can one podcast take on love, sex, and climate change (plus about 100 other social issues), and still manage to be funny, beautiful, and make you cry? This podcast is addictive, mesmerizing, and somehow fills you with compassion, for yourself, and for others, people who are both like you and as unlike you as possible.
