We are Timothy Faust and Kelly Jo. We really like health policy and heavy metal. Every other-week or so we'll discuss a current-ish event we think is interesting, and a health policy or health law paper we're into. We'll also discuss a metal album and attempt to say "this kicks ass" in as many words as possible for a few minutes.

Such a good team

Tim Faust has a great big-picture take on healthcare policy. He's so good at explaining complicated things in easy to understand ways. Kelly Jo is equally knowledgeable on the intersection of health and gender justice (and its intersections with race, class, etc.), allowing them to zoom in and out of health policy issues and maintain a dynamic, interesting discussion, even without guests.

You should care about healthcare policy

This show is fantastic. It puts some much needed humanity in to healthcare issues and healthcare policy. I appreciate the time and effort that the hosts put in to each episode. They handle complex issues in a manner that’s easy to digest. They also bring some much needed empathy to the conversation, which is important since healthcare policy has real consequence and impact beyond the dividends paid out to insurance company shareholders. Also, the metal reviews own.

Keep kicking was Timothy and Kelly Jo!

Essential listening for people that care about healthcare

The podcast is tongue in cheek. The information contained within, however, is precisely on point, well considered, and compelling. If you care about healthcare and social justice, this is a podcast for you.

Update: three eps in and I still think this is essential listening. Tim and Kelly Jo are rightfully unsparing in their criticism of the right and provide invaluable ammunition in arguing for a better world.
