Description

Henshin History is, ostensibly, a podcast about tokusatsu and Japanese superheroes, from the beginning to now, hosted by Alexa Hollow, Sven Michel and Van Ong. With multiple years of their lives lost to tokusatsu, they hope to shed some light on what makes it so interesting and compelling--no matter how many half-baked movie crossovers, terrible year-long show-runners, or teeth-grindingly incompetent scriptwriters the genre may throw at them.

Informative and fun!

I know very little about Kamen Rider, but after listening to a few episodes of this podcast I feel like I'm getting a comprehensive education about not just Kamen Rider but the other series all wrapped up under the tokusatsu heading. The hosts are really enjoying themselves and they do a great job explaining things for people like me while also throwing in references and jokes for veterans of the series. A highlight of my Friday!

A godsend on my long drives

The podcasts are fun and packed full of information, presented in a way that kept me laughing the whole way on that last couple of 6+ hour drive trips. The hosts are an absolute riot while still presenting information in a way that makes this podcast accessible to newbies while still being incredibly entertaining for veterans. As a vet to the toku pit, I found myself learning things I didn’t know. If you enjoy the genre or are curious about what this nonsense is about, check it out. I’ll be keeping this queued for all my future trips.
