Excellent History Podcast

Love this podcast. The author is clear and concise, and goes into the smaller facets of Japanese culture that are so interesting, as well as dealing in the broad strokes of the country's fascinating history.

Would love to hear an episode about the Shinsengumi, and/or yokai! Maybe some Japanese mythology or fairy tales? Anyway, keep up the great work, Mr. Meyer -- I'll be listening.

An Ecellent Primer

Mister Meyer has provided many an enjoyable hour at work, listening to basic and intermediate history of Japan, its influence, and the influence the outside world has had on what was once a mysterious and now possibly ambiguous nation/empire.

To my mind, he approaches history and fact as we know it amicably, non-condescendingly, and informatively. If you are interested in broadening your horizons or fulfilling courosity without needing anything other than an .mp3 format, this podcast is well worth your time without need for learning Japanese to garner information.

Great podcast

I was not familiar with eastern or Japanese history outside of WW2. This is a great pod. Try it.
