Even an Asian Studies student can learn a lot

After studying Japanese language and history in college, I was curious how much of the content would be new on this podcast. I'm happy to report I've learned a lot! The host is great and makes even complicated sections of history easy to listen to. Great podcast!

Started so well, deteriorated rapidly

This was a real good listen before the format changed to two (2) presenters. They take about 5 minutes to cover 1 minute of material. They interrupt each other and there are lots of “…I was going to say…” blah, blah kind of stuff.
If they would do some serious editing of the recording they could cut out a lot of trash. Instead, they are more interested in hearing their own voices and trying to show off with their speculations.
I will admit that the pod cast showed early promise. But I have unsubscribed and deleted all episodes.

Enjoy this podcast

Japan sometimes seems impenetrable to westerners. Much there to admire. Much human emotion the same at everywhere else. Usually more stylish! This show delves deeply into all that. Excellent effort. Much appreciate the proper pronunciations too.
