Great companion to books

So I found this podcast way back when it first started, right around the time I finished ADwD. I love that they go in depth and that they fill in the footnotes of what is going on (and lets face it there is lots going on). The audio quality can be bad at times but I don't mind because you can tell that they put a lot of time into the research and they do it on their off time. These guys aren't getting paid to inform me on what I'm too lazy to look up myself and I like that. The length works because you can hear it over time or all at once if you like. I wont knock them for the audio, it's cool, it's like listening to two dudes talk in public about what they like.
Also dont hate on Friggen Italian, every duo has a "color man", can you imagine watching wrestling or football and they both just ramble on? Keep doing work guys.

Great Content

Steve (Friggen Italian) does much to enhance the world of A Song and Ice and Fire, both for book readers, and non book readers!

Great idea, great concept. Execution could be better

Ok, I love the content. Love the idea. It's great for a nerdy fan like myself. However, it could go from a good podcast to an amazing podcast with more focus on the execution. For instance, Steve and Aziz have a tendency to talk over each other. Also, Aziz tends to dominate the conversations. This is because he is generally the better researched host. That's ok. But, if there isn't interplay between the two host then the podcast goes from conversation to lecture. And lectures just aren't as enjoyable. It doesn't always seem like the guys are as organized as they could be. With more organization they could structure the episodes so that there is more give and take, analysis, speculation, etc. instead of just an info dump. And there are some technical issues. The Spoiler edition of the Tyrells episode is just unlistenable. And it's a shame because I think it could have been a great one if it wasn't so poorly recorded.

So, I still love the podcast. I also understand that this is a labor of love between two passionate fans, and not something put together by professionals. But, I just think of how much better this could be with a little more attention to detail.
