Description

Have you ever dreamt of starting a farm or homesteading? Do you love foraging for wild edibles? Is your perfect afternoon spent drifting downriver, fishing for that nights dinner? Or do love to spend a crisp fall morning hunting for wild game to share with your family? Or perhaps you spend all your free time digging in your garden, collecting herbs, vegetables, and fruits to enjoy. Homesteady is a show that focuses on living a more sustainable life. We talk about all the ways a modern Homsteader can put food on the table, from the fields, streams, gardens and woodlands. Our roads may be rocky, but with the right skills and knowledge we can make Homesteady.

Mom

I’ve always enjoyed my son’s productions…he is amazingly talented, and this podcast is just one example of his endless creativity, knowledge and talent. (Ok, so maybe you are thinking that I am his mom so I would think this way, just stay tuned…you will feel the same way!) He is a special man, an amazing husband, father and son.

It was interesting, warm and informative…with the complete Austin charm!

Can’t wait to hear the next one!

Homesteady Pilot

As any competent TV watcher will tell you, one should never judge a series by its pilot; I listened to episode 1 of Homesteady armed with this lesson. And sure, there are ways I can see the program growing over time -- kinks to be worked out, aspects to be enhanced or trimmed --- but as a pilot, Homesteady's container garden episode was surprisingly enjoyable! Austin is passionate about what he has grown to love and as a relative newcomer to the world of sustainable living he makes the topic accessible to even the staunchest of urbanites. I didn't walk away from the podcast feeling like I should make a career change and start a tomato farm -- but, it did ignite the itch to get my basil into a bigger container so that it stops dying and perhaps finally get my window herb garden growing.

I look forward to Homesteady taking on the bigger, more intriguing aspects of rural life -- and I hope it continues to feel just as accessible.

Acountant Mike is wise...

Just the fact that HE knew who Captain Kirk was says enough… Its a fun show.
