A Refreshing Podcast
I really enjoy listening to other parents put a voice to a lot of the internal struggles and anxieties I face as a mother. I think the honesty that we need to face parenting with is like no other and hearing other people's truths makes it a bit easier. This podcast is great, not only is she speaking from a different perspective that is not currently being heard in the parenting podcast sphere, she is also tackling hard subjects that many aren't touching with a ten foot pole. So refreshing, I look forward to continue listening .
Original & So Fun
This is so fun to listen to; it legitimately feels like a conversation with a friend, not a sappy "mommy blogger" trying too hard to sound that way, and that's probably because Malaika's guests often actually ARE her friends. The chemistry totally comes through as she talks about everything from silly mom-paranoia to serious and heavy topics like racism in America and parenting through it. I've loved the hard-hitting expert advice as much as the silly joke-cracking when her husband's the "guest." She's a new voice in a saturated-with-sameness market. Great work, keep 'em coming!
A show for anyone who's got mommy blog fatigue
Love the way Malaika talks about issues facing young parents today. And she never takes herself too seriously. I don't even have kids myself but as a woman in an interracial relationship who also come from an interracial marriage herself, l really value the insights Malaika offers on raising a child in a multi-cultural household.
