Fly-Fight-Win | When Rachel was in the Air Force, she was assaulted by a fellow airman. While initially praised for her bravery, she was punished when she spoke out. But Rachel left the skies for the seas, and found healing on her boat, Coconut, where she now lives. ExplicitTrafficked, Recovered, Redeemed | When Jasmine Grace Marino was 18, her boyfriend forced her into the dark world of sex trafficking. Alicia Molina first started using drugs and alcohol when she was 13. She’s now 5 years sober. Sex trafficking and addiction are both stigmatized as individual failures, rather than reflections on our society. So here’s your weekly/daily/hourly reminder that they (and you, if you’re in similar situations) did not do anything wrong. These women were lucky to find ways out, and if you’re struggling we hope the same for you. If you know someone who you think may be a victim of human trafficking, you can call the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888. ExplicitJudgment Day | Mav Viola was attacked by someone she trusted - her youth pastor. She eventually realized he’d been grooming her (and other girls) for this abuse. Even WORSE, her church community didn’t believe her because apparently ‘someone who is a mostly ok dude that sometimes does terrible things to women’ is good enough! We’re throwing out some Hail Mary’s hoping churches get the hell away from this idea. Here’s a tip for people hiring anyone who works with children: if they’re a sex offender, DON’T HIRE THEM. Their voices though...
The hosts have got to stop talking like that. STOP WITH THE VALLEY GIRL BS! These are topics about rape and murder and these chicks are laughing and saying “omg totally!” Voices go up at the ends of all their sentences and they both have this annoying habit of saying, “right?...like” about every third sentence. It sounds juvenile and pedestrian. Content needs more substance. Listeners want to hear compelling stories, not these dumb valley girls talking like Cher from Clueless.
Take it Seriously.
Valley girl talk has got to stop, like it’s totally annoying, right? Unsubscribe bc of the host.
