Hip Hop Knowledge with a Punch
Great episodes of interesting hiphop facts and trivial snacks. I'm definitely tuned in. 🙏🏾
For the hip hop heads who've lost track of the day to day happenings, but still have that hip hop fix, this is a perfect listen. These brothers still in the culture and keep you up to date on the present, and how it compares to the recent and distant eras of rap. Makes the long commute bearable and entertains in the gym when the ears need a break from the bass.
Eavesdropping On 2 Music Heads.
What I love about Own No Loops is that Marcus & Jean have dedicated full shows to Hip Hop topics that are rarely talked about. Sure, they discuss some of the latest sounds and sights in the genre (Jay-Z's 4:44, HBO's Defiant Ones), but they also put the music in a historical context (the follow-up albums to classics). And that's the part of the show I love the most; the analytical breakdown of certain albums, artists and trends. Essentially these are two Hip Hop heads that have a passion for music, and we're lucky enough to get to eavesdrop on their conversation.
