Kavanaugh

I’ve never heard Jim talk about a victim this way. He never should have commented on this case if he couldn’t set aside his personal feelings for the accused (Jim has worked with Kavanaugh). Not once, in the whole discussion, did he focus his analysis on the guy - a 17 year old who’d been drinking. Really? Not one comment about how drinking might diminish his capacity to remember what he did or how it would impact his judgement?

People are full of inconsistencies. The world is full of otherwise good people who do terrible things that are in conflict with their image. Especially when you get into sexual situations. It’s not “roughhousing” when someone tries to remove your clothes and covers your mouth so you can’t scream. (Which is possible to do if they are holding you down with their body weight. That leaves a hand free to cover your mouth and a hand to grope you and try to remove your clothes.) I’m appalled that Jim characterized it as roughhousing.

I’ve thankfully never been attacked like this but it’s no wonder to me that women don’t come forward. Look how easily they’re dismissed. This podcast, no doubt, will discourage other women from reporting crimes perpetrated against them.

I can’t listen to this show anymore.

No thank you

The latest podcast about the Kavanaugh accusations was biased and neglectful. I unsubscribed to this podcast and RCP as a result. Sorry, but you should have either stayed away from the topic, or kept it strictly to the legality of it. It also irked me to hear both of you say that just because someones public persona is respectable that they are probably so in their private life. It irked me to hear you make up the word "corral" which was never in Dr. Ford's statement. She clearly states that Kavanaugh "physically pushed me into a bedroom" after which, they locked the door and then turned up the music. Why didn't you just have the statement ready in your podcast and read it out loud? Why didn't you have statics ready on sexual assault victims and how long it takes for most , if any, to come forward? She also never changed her story. The statement clearly says 4 people were at the gathering NOT in the room where the assualt occurred. Get your facts straight before you verbally assault an alleged victim. Highly unprofessional. Based off her statement - if one were to assume it's the truth, I would say that assault did occur and isn't that a crime? Being 17 and drunk is no excuse for Kavanaugh. The witnesses that she names have good reason to deny the allegations as they have probably learned of the death threats against Ford as well as her emails being hacked. This really changed my views on your podcast and I will no longer listen to it.

Used to be a great show

The Kavanaugh episodes show their true colors. From Clemente "I met Kavanaugh once so I'm on his side" to Hakes’ Fox News commentary, they ensure they make a case against Ford based on untrue documents (no one said "corralled" in the end, that’s five minutes of rant that I’ll never get back.)
Look, with all the respect I had for this show I was ready to hear them out. But the constant drumbeat of doubt and innuendo against the victim. Geez. Based on no actual investigation, since the political majority blocked any actual fact-finding before the circus of their hearings.
I like data and factual processes, not manipulation of rumors.
