Description

Everywhere around us are echoes of the past. Those echoes define the boundaries of states and countries, how we pray and how we fight. They determine what money we spend and how we earn it at work, what language we speak and how we raise our children. From Wondery, host Patrick Wyman, PhD (“Fall Of Rome”) helps us understand our world and how it got to be the way it is.

The doctor does history

It is interesting and refreshing to see yet another solid history podcast from someone with a background in the field. There are some outstanding history podcasters out there to be sure, I don’t need to name them, but, for me at least, it’s interesting to see the academic angle brought into the story here and there and Patrick is doing that seamlessly and w/o it being overpowering or making the story dry.

This is a great podcast!

I’m no history buff and I’m not a big reader either! I easily get board with dates and facts but this podcast puts history in such a great easy to listen to story form, without any in mature or childishness too it! I find myself fascinated with the facts and the insight and even the depth that you guys go and I can understand and can’t wait to hear what you say next! Thanks for helping to make history so interesting!!

Great History Podcast

Patrick does an excellent job of humanizing history. Podcast is topical more than chronological but that keeps the show from bogging down into a slog of names and dates.
