Portal intel & Colorado's sneaky smart move + Notre Dame's high expectations in 2024

The spring portal continues to rewrite the record books. Max Olson joins Ari to contextualize data, trends, and share his portal intel. Shilo Sanders' social media post directing transfers to message him or his brother, Shedeur, drew skepticism from college football fans. Was too much made of Sanders' invitation? Ari believes so, while Max thinks this was a smart way to circumvent tampering rules. The Portal Authority shares his thoughts on RBs Alton McCaskill and Damien Martinez, CB Tacario Davis, DT Damonic Williams, and he and Ari determine if your program should recurit some of the more intriguing transfers using the N.I.L. scale. The Athletic's Notre Dame scribe Pete Sampson hops on afterward to spread the word about the Irish's spring ahead of their spring game this weekend. What does Pete think of OC Mike Denbrock, Riley Leonard's injury, the WR and OL rooms, the returning production on defense, and expectations for South Bend's team and Marcus Freeman in 2024?

Spring transfer portal preview + Will Drew Allar & Penn St. make the leap?

Spring transfer portal preview + Will Drew Allar & Penn St. make the leap?

April 16 marks the beginning of the college football spring transfer window. And, according to some, it will be the most chaotic spring portal period to date. Ari, Chris, and the Portal Authority, Max Olson, prepare you for next week's barrage of player movement by identifying which teams are likely to be the most active (Alabama and Washington, among others), and the players you should keep your eyes on (like RB Damien Martinez). Later, The Athletic's Penn State scribe Audrey Snyder fills us in on everything going on in Happy Valley. Of everything discussed, the most important topic, as you might suspect, is will QB Drew Allar take the next step under new OC Andy Kotelnicki? Will a playoff berthe be enough to satisfy Nittany Lions fans? Speaking of things going on in Pennsylvania, Chris just came back from Wrestlemania. By his estimation, what can college football learn from wrestling/WWE?

    Rundown:
    - Explaining the rules of the spring transfer portal (3:00)
    - Which teams will be the most active in the portal? (8:15)
    - Portal players to watch: Damian Martinez, Henry Perrish Jr., and more (15:30)

    - Audrey Snyder joins the show! (38:15)
    - What CFB can learn from Wrestlemania (58:00)

Is college football in store for a super league in the future? The Athletic's Stewart Mandel and Andrew Marchand reported on Wednesday about a budding organization created by a very influential group of people involving just that. Ari and Max discuss what a super league would look like, who would benefit, what major roadblocks are preventing a conglomeration of teams, the pros of a centralized governing body, and more. Later, Ohio State scrivner Cameron Teague Robinson addresses why the Buckeyes' quarterback situation might not be as cut and dry as many think. Plus, Jeremiah Smith is DIFFERENT, and Chip Kelly's influence so far. The Portal Guru, aka Max, fills you in on sneaky-good portal additions during the transfer window with the spring window around the corner. Plus, who will be the next celebrity HC like Deion?

Wild Card QBs in 2024 | Way-too-early hot seat watch | How Cason Beck's navigated NIL and the portal

At a position with both constants and questions, quarterback is the most make-it or break-it position in college football. But, which QBs fall in the middle of that scale? Who are the sport's wild cards? Ari and David each list several pigskin hurlers who fit that criteria in 2024. Later, Seth Emerson pops in to talk about his exclusive interivew with Georgia QB Carson Beck. Seth shares why Beck has stuck around Athens for as long as he has, instead of darting for the portal. He also explains fan and player sentiment around Beck's widely-viewed Lamborghini purchase. There's a lull in the CFB calendar at the moment, but the urgency hasn't subsided for these hot seat coaches.

4 stars because Aubeck is unlistenable.

We need a live stream of Dave cooking Ari breakfast

Can’t wait to see Ari try his first bite of French toast casserole. And just wanted to let the producer know I’m here for the breakfast conversation!

On another note, what do you think about Tony Alford leaving OSU for the same job at Michigan? Do we think Chip Kelly wanted to bring in his own guy, Or was this Alford’s own decision? Does he potentially want more opportunity for a promotion?

Chuck A K ,

Awesome!!!

Listen to the college football insight, here for the talk about life.
