Description

What is it like to be famous before you’re famous? What is it like to walk in the shoes of another person? Each episode of Imagined Life takes you on an immersive journey into the life of a world-famous person. It’ll be someone you may think you know, even admire -- or maybe the opposite. You’ll get clues to your identity along the way. But only in the final moments will you find out who “you” really are. So sit back, let go, and -- imagine your life, with our hosts, Oscar nominated Virginia Madsen and celebrated voice actor Robbie Daymond. From Wondery, the network behind Dirty John.

BUCKETS OF TEARS

Like many people, I listen to podcasts to pass the time on my work commute. As a result, I usually laugh my way through the terrible LA traffic, but with IMAGINED LIFE, I have had to pull over to ugly cry. It plays like an immersive whodunit, where you take stabs at the subject's identity...and honestly...I've guessed wrong on most occasions here...and then, without fail, the reveals bring me to tears. I've been dumbstruck by how emotional these stories have been for me...a combination of awe, pride, and that lump in your throat appreciation of triumph over adversity. Even when I was able to correctly guess the identity early on (in one instance only!), it still made me get off the road and openly bawl my eyes out, reach for tissues, cry some more and then head to work delishishly drained. Bonus points for the excellent sound design and tremendously invested narration by the exquisite Virginia Madsen and Robbie Daymond. Finally, the writing on these podcasts feels rich, detailed and truly hones in on the universal emotions, obstacles, and dreams of these very famous and very human subjects. Bravo!

Excellent Writing

A beautiful retelling of icons that we know today. At the end of the episodes I’d get the chills when it was revealed who was being discussed. I can’t wait for more! Bravo!!

I’m hooked!

Just wanted to tell you guys to keep them coming! I love how sometimes I’m so sure I know who it is, only to be so very wrong, and then on the next episode I have absolutely no clue until the very end.
