This podcast COULD be awesome

I want to like this podcast.

David brings in interesting guests nearly every week to talk about social media. He makes it a point to read the books that his guests have written so the interviews have some meat. There is a lot to like.

So what's the problem.

The quality of the podcast.

This has to be hands down one of the worst podcasts technically I've ever heard. I"m not sure what the technology stack is that they use but the sound quality is terrible.

I listen to this in my car and some weeks the audio was so bad that even turning my speakers up didn't help.

Other weeks, the postcast would play for a few seconds then stop playing.

Other weeks the guest sounded fine but I could barely here David.

David, get to know @DanBenjamin from 5by5. He sets the bar on quality for a podcast. Maybe he can offer your some pointers on how to record.

Gotcha Gotcha

I agree 100% with the other review. Good content, bad mixing. Audio quality isn't bad, it's just the volume level on the host is so low you can't hear it. Buy a mixer, a better mic. Until then, I'm going to have to skip your podcast. And stop repeating yourself. Gotcha Gotcha. Awesome Awesome. Right Right. A litte editing goes a long way. Good content, keep it up, but please fix these fixable issues.

Is this really a Hub Spot production?

As other reviewers have already commented, the production quality is among the worse of any podcast listed on iTunes. There is absolutely no excuse. Quality microphones and audio editing software is dirt cheap. Also several episodes and responses are cut short due to technical issues (more likely user issues.) The fact that quality remains substandard after 2-years of production and through almost 50 episodes shows a complete disregard to the listener experience. Although the guests are amazing, the host often comes across like a college intern. If it weren't for the quality of the guests, there wouldn't be much to recommend this program. I'm sure David is a good guy and very knowledgeable about inbound marketing, however, his constant streams of "You knows", "right rights", "great greats", and "awesomes" make him sound like a high school intern. I really didn't want this review to be a flame of the program. But, as I mentioned earlier, after two years of production, there is absolutely now excuse for this complete disregard for production quality and the lack of confer for listener experience. Is this what customers can expect from Hub Spot? If so, I think I'll pass.
