Description

An entertaining podcast about self-awareness and discovery. The title Infants on Thrones is an homage to the Mormon Founder Joseph Smith who said, in his lesser-known King Follet discourse, that eternity is full of thrones, upon which dwell thousands of children, reigning on thrones of glory, with not one cubit added to their stature. It is a funny image, but it also suggests that we, as amateur podcasters, do not really have all the answers we may think we do. We can't take ourselves too seriously. We are also Infants on Thrones.

Not just awkward interviews!

Finally a Mormon podcast that's engaging the whole time. Creative use of music, movie clips, and well-edited interviews to keep the podcast focused and entertaining. Well done!

Smart, Funny, and did I say Smart?

This podcast is GREAT! I have really been craving a podcast that could make me both laugh and think. On the Apostasy episode I actually took notes! It is so refreshing to hear Mormon topics discussed in a frank, entertaining, and thought provoking way. I may not agree with everything that everyone says, but I have a great time thinking about it. And the format is innovative and highly engaging. There is some real talent behind this podcast. Laughter is so therapeutic!

raising expectations

Don't let the name scare you away. These are no mere infants wailing and howling on their ivory thrones. These guys produce the highest quality podcasts and some of the freshest content I have heard from amateur podcasters. They bring in many voices and include clips from different sources to tell their story from different perspectives and make it interesting. And thankfully they do it all with a playful sense of humor that does not take themselves or their subject matter too seriously (even when it is). I have been a Mormon Podcast listener for a long time and there are some really excellent podcasts out there. This one could very well leave them all the dust. It doesn't yet, but that's only because they are just getting started. But if they can keep up the pace and maintain their creative format, they could really stretch the boundaries of Mormon podcasting, making it more entertaining and accessible to a larger general audience. Bravo infants! You have a fan.
