Finally a Real Debate

Intelligence Squared is a refreshing program from NPR that takes a critical look at today’s issues. The strength of the program is that conflict between the debating sides is well mediated and respectful. When I watch shows like Crossfire, I end up feeling like I’m watching little kids competing for whose voice is more alienating. With Intelligence Squared, I feel like I’m listening to a discussion between teachers whom I respect. I might not agree with them, but the conversation is worth listening to.

Intellectual debate comes to the iPod

I was always annoyed when they advertised (promoted, whatever) these as specials on the local NPR station and they were being broadcast at inconvenient times But now, yay.

This podcast is enlightening!! It's not biased or sensational!

Intelligence squared is a fascinating, eye opening, TWO SIDED argument you can't find in mainstream media. There's no anchor's leading questions. It's debate on hot issues without the idiots of the media involved.
