Matthew Porter and his son Ian Porter explore movies, TV, books and music from Matthew's youth, way back in the 20th Century. What stands the test of time? What doesn’t? And what's still worth binging in the new millennium?
Son learns what made Dad ... whatever he is today. And Dad learns what Son thinks of all this.

NIMOY'S PREVIOUS FRONTIER
Now that we've talked about Leonard Nimoy as host of IN SEARCH OF..., it's finally time for the IMMP to discuss the dramatic action-adventure series whose ensemble included Leonard Nimoy, years earlier. It premiered in 1966, and while it had fans from the very start it exploded in popularity in the years that followed. It came back in the 1980s with a revival series, and also gave rise to a long-running movie franchise.
(Spoiler: It's MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE!)

David Lynch’s DUNE (1984)
Is the Weirding Module code for Transcendental Meditation? Was Kyle MacLachlan way too old to portray Paul Atreides? Did the Guild Navigator really need that guy with the shop vac? Ian and Matthew discuss these questions and more after a trip to the Alamo Drafthouse to see David Lynch's 1984 adaptation of Frank Herbert's DUNE.

Great podcast
I stumbled across this podcast and saw the Stop Making Sense episodes. Talking Heads are one of my favorite bands, and that album/movie both went through hundreds of replays during college for me too. It was very cool to hear someone familiar remember the aspects that he loved, and someone new explain the things that resonated for the first time. Matt and Ian’s back and forth is both humorous and informative while always entertaining. Looking forward to diving into more episodes!
Ok but gaps in audio
Please adjust the noise gate or other automatic ducking. The first word from each speaker is sometimes missing. Listen to one of your recordings to hear this.
