Loving iPad Today!
I was really excited to hear the TWiT network would be producing an iPad show. Leo Laporte and Sarah Lane are my absolute favorite and do a really good job talking about iPad mainly, but no obsessing over it as some other shows do. I like the weekly apps idea. I'm always looking for new apps for my upcoming iPad. The news is great, very TWiT like but iPad-esque. Leo's WeRule Strategy Guide was my favorite part! I was excited to see how his kingdom works and hear his strategies. Keep up the good work Leo and Sarah! You've gained a loyal viewer!
More substance and less fluff!
I appreciate the show for the new information it does provide and the apps they do present, but commonly they leave out significant details and even express erroneous information. Even though Leo and Sarah can be fun to listen to, it seems either this show is written over morning coffee, they have ADD or it is meant for a 12-17yr old audience. For example the browser episode failed to mentioned that some of them like Atomic CAN port your bookmarks from Safari in three easy steps (you said several times this was a negative issue), in the clock episode the Emerald Observer clock contains a wealth of good utility and even though you recommended it -- you just glossed over all of it and kept talking about how pretty, pretty it all looks with all the planets moving around and all -- well it is pretty but it does ALOT which even amateur astronomers (and astrologers) would find useful. You erroneously said part of it was a "millennium clock", there is no such thing in this app. To get this information simply click on the indicated link to their website and spend five minutes reading the explanations and you can appreciate all the details this clock offers. And finally the most recent episode on "numbers" -- a caller requested an episode on number games so what do you do, review one game (the one the caller referred to then went on to "review" a couple calculator apps. I didn't realize calculators were games now.
So for anyone watching this, I highly recommend you do your own additional research before purchasing anything they recommend unless they decide to dedicate just a little more time in their research to make this a more informative show.
Dump Sarah Lane
I have been a big fan of Leo Laporte for many years. I am subscribed to almost all the TWIT program and was excited about this one. I had to give up after three episodes. Sarah Lane is like nails on a chalkboard.
Advice to Leo: you know from the past and you have history with isn't always your best choice for a co-host. Let her do that back-room producing or whatever, but find a new co-host.
