Finally a Podcast for someone like me

Jeff, Mona, and Allen have wonderfully crafted a conversation that is welcoming, self-aware, and authentic without being pretentious or overly general. If you're looking for a place to hear honest insights about the journey of faith this is your podcast.

In this introductory episode, the three hosts share their respective stories about their experience in the world of evangelicalism and their journey to a place that resides somewhat outside that community. While no longer considering themselves members of the evangelical church, they all have an active faith life and don't feel the need to bash conservative Christianity (maybe poke a little fun, but let's not take ourselves too seriously).

This kind of conversation has been missing from the "religious" podcasts and I'm thankful for the time and energy they are putting into it. Whether you consider yourself an evangelical, atheist, or don't even accept the premise of that spectrum, you will find this a welcoming, stimulating and funny podcast.

In addition, I'd like to thank them for the level of production value of this podcast, it sounds great! Well done. You all have a great presence and voice, especially for a first episode! It feels like you've been doing this for a while.

I'm looking forward to the episodes to come.

Where Faith Meets Culture: 5 Stars

Considering how new this project is to its creators, Irenicast feels fully formed and fleshed out in every regard. Jeff, Mona, and Allen, all having prior and/or current experience in church ministry, dive in to some of the most important disccussions that could be had on the state of contemporary Evangelical Christianity. It is loaded with real experiences, humility, interesting topics, satire, and above all: honesty and compassion. This podcast is a must-listen-to podcast for anyone struggling to figure out how to follow Jesus in a culture where following Jesus and going to church are two different things.

Thought provoking...

I've listened to and enjoyed every show. It's definitely worth your time to check it out. I do think the show would benefit from the addition of a co-host with slightly different views to act as a counter-balance during the discussions, but in the meantime I'll just keep screaming at my headphones when one of them says something with which I vehemently disagree (the US is committing genocide in the Middle East? Jeremiah Wright has been a prophetic voice? Huh?). Personally, I love listening to people, with whom I often disagree, discuss issues that I feel passionately about. Overall an interesting podcast that has been added to my already overflowing weekly scheduled podcast listening.
