Missed opportunity

Starts Off Well, but Becomes Harder to Listen Too
I’ll start off with some pros. This podcast gets straight to the point. Some will make you sit through ten to twenty minutes of announcements before getting to the actual topic, but this one just dives right in. The three main hosts have a solid camaraderie and occasionally offer some neat insight in the beginning. The sound quality is good.
That’s unfortunately where my positives end. Because as it’s gone on, the commentary from the hosts has become much less insightful. It’s very clear that they’re not enjoying the show they’re currently going through, The Next Generation. That’s not a crime in and of itself, but their boredom is showing in their episodes. It’s leading them to either dismiss or ignore interesting talking points about the episodes, and instead settle on nitpicking. And often the things they nitpick are explained in the actual episodes!
The other way they’ve been trying to fill the air is by telling ‘edgy’ jokes that don’t work. They’ve been becoming increasingly anti-religious, which runs counter to Star Trek’s ethos of Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations. And then other times they just go for really crass ones that aren’t funny. It was actually a combo of the two in one episode that finally convinced me to drop the series. For a show that’s supposed to celebrate Star Trek it feels like these guys have lost sight of what it’s about.
