||CleanIt's Catholic Y'all - Fighting Bigotry: The Story of the Catholic Laymen’s Association||What comes to mind when you think of the 1920’s? Jazz? Economic prosperity? How about bigotry and hate speech directed at Catholics? If that last one doesn’t come to mind when you think of the early teens and 20’s, that thanks in large part to the efforts of dedicated men and women who made up the Catholic Laymen’s Association, a group formed in Georgia to combat the rampant anti-Catholicism that could be found in newspapers at the time. Today we’re going to talk with Bishop J. Kevin Boland, and hear from Mr. John Markwalter, a long time and prominent member of the Catholic Laymen’s Association on why the fact you might not have ever heard of the Catholic Layman’s Association means they were successful. Archival issues of the Bulletin of the Catholic Laymen's Association from 1920 to 1960 can be found here: http://scr.stparchive.com/||3/21/2018||Free||View in iTunes|

But as with most things; reality is much more complex. Luckily we’re joined today by Fr. Michael Kavanaugh, Pastor of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church on Wilmington island, and Director of Ecumenism for the Diocese of Savannah and he's going to shed some light on the background of the Reformation for us.||10/20/2017||Free||View in iTunes|
