Description

JEMcast is a weekly podcast providing in-depth analysis on every episode of the outrageous 80s cartoon show, Jem and the Holograms. It's widely known that some of the themes dealt with in the show were quite ahead of its time—namely jealousy, illiteracy, abandonment, greed, and even substance abuse. We dive right into these topics and figure out which of the episodes are the greatest. How toxic is Jem and Rio's relationship? What is the root of Pizazz's reckless behaviour? Subscribe and stick around as we journey through three seasons worth of episodes!

Customer Reviews

Showtime, Synergy.

Listen, join three hilarious writers as they
very seriously discuss the pink-headed step child of the Hasbro/Sunbow Cartooniverse, the truly outrageous Jem and the Holograms. Fans of the series, our hosts pull no punches in breaking down the episodes, inventing head canon, and positing hypotheses about how the timespace continuum works (and doesn't work) in this oft-times preposterous part of the 1980s. Far more entertaining than one would expect, definitely not a garbage fire.

In depth and awesome

Thanks for doing this podcast. I especially like Tempest's commentary. There are times when Aleen and Tempest are on a role with a particular topic, when suddenly Alex cuts them off and moves to talk about another scene. Probably the editing, but felt those moments were rather rude of him. Otherwise, great stuff.

What would I do without JEMcast?

I've been rewatching Jem on Netflix and oh my god, what would I do without JEMcast to guide me through the highs and lows. I love Jem, but it can be a tortured love. Sometimes the C team handles too much of the animation and the characters are unrecognizable. Sometimes the plots are unfathomably nonsensical, other times stultifyingly similar. And sometimes The Holograms are just Taking A Train. It can be a lot to parse, and Alex Knight, Aleen Simms and K. Tempest Bradford are here to help. Thank you.
