The prohpet Jonah had good reason to run the other way, but in the end, is there really any other way but God's? Jonah is most characterized by a giant whale wherein he spent 3 days. However, the main point of this prophet's account isn't to tell of his adventures with a burping mamal, but to proclaim his God who will go to extravagant lengths to display that He is "a gracious God, merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love". Got enemies? What if God asked you to rescue them from His righteous wrath & eternal damnation? Oh wait... He has! Perhaps there's a cruisliner heading for Tarshish? Might wanna take a jacket.
