Orthodox in name only
I was hoping for a real exploration of the Orthodox perspective on sexual issues, even if not PC. On this podcast, a liberal sex therapist pretty much says everything is permissible, and the Rabbi agrees with her. On one episode, an LGBT activist said she prefers to ignore the pasuk in Leviticus forbidding male relations. This is the Orthodox approach?
An opened, unashamed, halachic and sociological perspective on sexual topics in the religious Jewish community. Definitely comes from a more left-leaning standpoint but the nature of discussion is broad.
Great combination of Linzer & Marcus!
While I enjoy the topic of sex, sexuality, gender, and Judaism to begin with, what makes this podcast unique is the back-and-forth between Rabbi Linzer and Dr. Batsheva Marcus. They both bring different perspectives, which are nuanced by their various fields of study, and give over answers in ways that are sensitive and truly connect listeners back to the “bigger picture” - Judaism.
Dr. Marcus has a great laugh and a truly fantastic sense of humor that comes across very well. By the end of the episodes, you want her to be your friend/mentor and Rabbi Linzer to be your Rav.
