Why Must You Hurt Me So?

To be sure, this is another excellent foray into all things audio for Messr. Hodgman. I can not deny it. However, one wonders why these pod bon mots begin on November 2. Happenstance? I think not. Surely the author knew that my birthday was on November 1, and chose to start the NEXT day, purely out of spite towards me. No, no, no. I will hear no excuses of post-Halloween logeyness, nor one of pre-electoral anxiety. I know the truth. Mr. Hodgman knows the truth. He sat at his giant Edwardian desk and chose to begin this most excellent aural adventure without my birthday. I listen, I like, and I begrudge.

Accurately States Today's Date

This podcast is a godsend for people who want to be told what day it is by a specific person, to wit, John Hodgman. And the pertinent date information is augmented with wildly inaccurate ephemera which may be useful in impressing others who are not privy to our commonly-shared reality. Highly recommended, but keep in mind that listening on the wrong date may result in confusion as to you and the ridicule of others.

Exactly as much Hodgman as I require

What could be better than having John Hodgman (writer, minor television personality, and all-around "cutie") provide THIS DAY IN THE PAST on his website? -- Having that information in my dashboard via WebClips. But what could be better than that? -- Having this information read to me by the man himself, via a complex series of pneumatic tubes. These amazing true facts about the past is just as enlightening as the first time I read them in the book. (And the second time that I read them via the web.) You should also listen to them. Because if we do not know about our fake history, then we will be doomed to repeat it.
