Chicana/o Studies y CSUN!!

First time listener here and I just have to say, WOW! I love your energy and vibe. Everything you said in your last episode (ep. 14.5) hit so close to home. I’m a student from CSUN in George Sánchez’s class and yes, listening to your podcast was part of an assignment, but I’m hooked! Can’t wait for your next episode! P.S so jealous that you had the chance to go see Cuco!

Casual, Random, Intimate, Interesting

This podcast runs a wide range of topics like art, food, politics, history, and culture with an ecclectic group of guests. I love the super casual format of the show. There is always a base theme to each episode to start off, but Yvette let's the discussion go where it wants to go and that makes it feel a lot more intimate and interesting. Fun stuff! Keep doin' what you're doin'.

Friendly & Real - Commentary on SoCal Culture, Current Events

Listening to this weekly podcast feels like sitting at the dinner table with friends after a delicious meal, talking about life in Southern California and current events from the viewpoint of cultured 30-somethings eager to absorb wisdom from their elders and community. It is especially enjoyable if you have ever lived in the San Fernando Valley or greater Los Angeles area, as it often references local landmarks, and records oral histories from those who grew up in the area. I loved the Gramma Rita (Part 1) episode and am dying to know... what band was on the CD Jesse shared with her?!?! Also curious what vinyl Gramma Rita still has in her collection. I'm tuned in. Keep 'em coming!
