Whitney's Commentary Ruins It

If only there were a way to easily skip over the host's commentary, this would be a fantastic podcast.

Whitney uses a sort of personal thesis as an organizing principal for the clips. Unfortunately, his arguments are often poorly reasoned with glaring lapses in logic. (And presented in a condescending tone in a somewhat irritating voice.)

For instance, last week he chose to defend Kanye West's claim that in his support for Trump he's all about the love & just wants to free people's minds. Yet, the only support presented for this are Kanye's own simplistic claims along with a supporter parroting him.

Also, how many times is Whitney going to subject his listeners to the extremely disturbing clip of sexual predator & apparent psychopath James Toback gleefully recounting the tale of his viscous psychological abuse of a director who displeased him? I'm beginning to think Whitney enjoys the sickening story.

Someone, please make a podcast that brings us the best of late night comedy without the haranguing. I'd pay for that.

Everything is good but the host

I love hearing the snips of comedy shows and the topics of current issues and actually being able to laugh. The host is no better than the people he’s criticizing though and I try to fast forward through what he says. We don’t listen to hear his opinion, we listen to hear the comedy of the week but he inserts his opinion everywhere and can be offensive-and not offensive in the typical comedian way.

Great idea Poor execution

Sometimes this podcast is great! I love when it focuses on the comedy of late night, which is in the title. But recently, it has started to become more political and now there are more quotes from news channels than late night comedy. If you want to do a political commentary show that is fine just don't advertise it as an ESPN for late night comedy.
