Fun and great to listen to

I love this series! I have learned a lot through listening to Marina and Ben. This was the only beginner's Spanish podcast that didn't make me feel as if I was mentally challenged ... And on top of the great explanations and extra vocabulary it's a pleasure to listen to them, they both have beautiful voices and pronunciation. Thanks Marina and Ben!

Not for intermediate students, but great for motivated beginners...

In response to the last reviewer who admitted that they are an intermediate level student, I wanted to say that if you are Intermediate you should really be listening to Ben and Marina's Notes in Spanish Intermediate podcast, not this one. This one is good for people who are pretty new to Spanish and want something a little more substantive than textbooks generally offer. I personally didn't find the Spanish to be too fast when I listened, but if someone wanted to be able to be more sure of themselves when listening, the website they run in relation to the podcast offers detailed PDFs with exercises for a small fee. All around a good podcast with a strong website standing behind it for the more serious listeners.

great for those who want to learn English

I have some Spanish, can read and write at a mid intermediate level. I need a podcast to help me improve my listening. This series isn't it. There is way too much English here to really be helpful, English is spoken too slowly, and the Spanish is too fast and without repetition. What is needed is lots more Spanish at a slower than normal speed (at first) and lot less English
