Description

LIGHT TALK is a show featuring three seasoned professional lighting designers and educators who discuss the latest developments in the world of live entertainment and architectural lighting design. Steve Woods (SMU), Stan Kaye (University of Florida), and David Jacques (California State University Long Beach) offer sage, and sometimes controversial advice to professionals and students of lighting design. Nothing is Taboo, Nothing is Sacred, and very little makes sense.

Doesn't LumaSuck!

As a lighting designer and educator, even I was weary about a lighting pod. The Lumen Brothers pull it off!
David, Stan, and Steve complement each other nicely with their various experiences, interest, and approaches to lighting in both the professional and academic worlds. They approach all aspects of the world of a lighting designer in regards to gear, relationships, education, and most importantly the art in a way that makes it accessible to both young designers as well as those who have been around for awhile. A nice balance between the tech and the art.
As a somewhat new educator, I enjoy hearing about their various teaching styles and approaches, as well their personal stories from their professional experiences.
I'd certainly recommend this pod for young designers, but with the range of experience of these three, there is certainly something for the seasoned veterans as well.
You may even occassionally laugh at one of their jokes! ;)
