Description

Muriel/Aggie Murch is a radio producer, writer, organic farmer and registered nurse. Muriel began her radio work in 1989 in the Drama and Literature department at KPFA Pacifica in Berkeley, California. In 1996 she joined a small group that formed KWMR community radio in Point Reyes, California. She continues to write short stories and poetry and, as she can, produce radio programs often focused on literature, agriculture or medicine. Living with Literature is a series of radio programs based on conversations with people in the worlds of art, humanities, science and scholarship whose work has had a significant impact on the way we think and live, whether in a local or global context. The focus of the conversation is on the literature that the guests have read at decisive moments in their lives. Through listening to these conversations we rediscover, with them, the writing and thoughts that have shaped their minds. The conversations are edited and intercut with readings from the literature that they have chosen to remember and present. In addition to these conversations this podcast includes interviews with authors on their specific work. Story readings are also included. Some go with a specific interview. Others are simply stories. This podcast is only made possible with the help and generosity of Pete Horner. Pete also composed and performed the theme music for Letter from A. Broad and Living with Literature. www.mixmonkey.com
