Description

Loose Cannons is pretty simple: it's a podcast where two dudes have committed to watching every single Cannon film that's available and watchable in any form and to then talk about them for about a half hour. And no, there's really no good reason why.

Justification for not having a life!

I grew up watching Cannon Films! We had a four-screen theater--the rosemead 4--that was as close to a grindhouse as one could get in suburbia: it played most the Cannon canon, almost all of Corman's oeuvre (pretty much any movie with a slasher, robot, ninja, or monster made its debut at the Rosemead 4).
As an adult, I now have fellow old fart-friends--who I didn't know back when I was wasting my childhood-through-teen years watching Cannon et. al.--who also spent an unhealthy amount of time at the Rosemead 4. It's like Back to the Future 2, with my life happening in the foreground, and those guys sharing the same experiences at the same time in the background.
And now, I've discovered YOU guys: Time, distance, and cultures may have separated us, but the Cannon Canon has brought us together, at least through the miracle of your podcast.
I can't tell you how many times I have burst out into laughter while riding the bus, watering the lawn, or whatever (let's just say that it's been "a LOT"). Now that you're in the "Golan Age," I look forward to listening you describe movies that I've seen so many times (as you have done for The Apple). After sharing highlights of the Cannon Canon with friends at many-a-Bad Movie Night, I had grown a little jaded, and started to take these treasures for granted, but hearing you guys try to describe the plot to Enter the Ninja made the experience fresh all over again. I can hardly wait for the next season! The Lifeforce episode is going to be EPIC!
