Fantastic First Episode

The first episode of "Mabel" is told entirely as a series of voicemails left by an increasingly distressed hospice worker attempting to get in touch with a patient's daughter. Something is wrong with the patient and the house she lives in. While the nature of the problem is unclear from this first episode, it has the feel of a classic haunted house narrative like "Turn of the Screw". "Mabel" manages to get a truly remarkable amount of tension out of a series of voicemails, which most would not think of as such a scary medium. Here, though, it works beautifully. Eagerly awaiting the next episode.

It's early in the game, but I'll call it...

...Mabel is easily the best new supernatural fiction podcast out there. It's clever, captivating, & well-produced with the sort of natural writing and voice acting that is relentlessly engaging and suspenseful without feeling staged. I can't wait to hear what comes next.

An Interesting New Podcast

An interesting new podcast with a cool, strong female voice and an intriguing storyline. I'm definitely curious to see where it goes. The music is fantastic and really adds to the ambiance and intensity.
