Mike Blejer's Insightful Comedy Interview Show

If you have ever wondered what makes comedians tick and what they talk about with each other when they're not performing, this is the podcast you should follow. Mike Blejer brings in a wide variety of professional comedians to talk about their experiences and the perspectives that color their outlook on the absurdities of the human condition.

A considerate, yet probing interviewer, Mike allows his guests to reveal their introspective nature. His background in philosophy permits him to pursue topics into deeper territory than you'd expect from a discussion with comedians. No subjects are off limits: religion, politics, drugs, sex, abuse, and relationships come into play as Mike learns what makes each guest unique and fascinating.

Aspiring comedians will find Malignant Brain Humor instructive; we learn how the guests have progressed from being the class clown to a featured performer on late-night shows such as David Letterman's and Jimmy Fallon's. The guests may even expose how they have modified materials they picked up from other comedians to incorporate them into their own individual style of comedy. It's often amusing to hear how particular events in a guest's life ended up being part of their performance.

What's really intriguing about the episodes is that each interview is likely to wander into unexpected territory; in addition to understanding the guest comedians, we also learn about what Mike has experienced and how his own routines are developed. He doesn't hold back on anything that has formed his perspective on life.

So, I highly recommend Malignant Brain Humor. Try it and I guarantee you'll come back for more.

I couldn't agree with the first reviewer more. What an incredibly intelligent and insightful interviewer. I thoroughly enjoyed the Gary Gulman episode as the two comics talk "shop."I never before connected comedy to psychology to philosophy through comic style. I look forward to more podcasts.
